Mike Sommers, President

Mike Sommers is an owner of Stark Development where he executes business operations in both the Ohio and North Carolina offices, including business development, controlling, estimating, purchasing, project management and project supervision. Sommers maintains a high level of oversight for all Stark Development production – and, as part of the team, he cleans the toilets, too. Mike opened Stark Development in 1999, and after five years focusing on residential framing carpentry, Stark Development transitioned to commercial general contracting. With 26 years in the industry, Mike has experience in everything from service and warranty work to municipal projects, commercial construction, medical facilities and dental offices. And while he’s an expert at providing quality solutions for clients’ capital improvement needs, he loves that he gets to build friendships with his customers – not just structures for them. Mike and his wife Cheryl have been married for 20 years and have three children: Corban (16), Sydney (14) and Jared (13). Mike loves visiting American historical sites, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Haven of Rest Ministries, nerding out about the Apollo program and vacationing in the Outer Banks with his family.

Brent Schrock, General Manager

Brent Schrock is an owner and general manager for Stark Development of Ohio, LLC. He oversees all Ohio operations and manages each project from beginning to end – ensuring streamlined processes, superior quality and happy customers. After working as a mason tender during his summers in high school, Brent moved on to build a career in construction. With 27 years of experience in the industry, he has supervised and managed a variety of projects in everything from residential to commercial construction. He loves the fast pace of the construction industry, the fact that no two projects are ever the same, and the joy of seeing dreams turn into realities as he brings every project to completion. Brent and his wife Andrea have been married for 17 years and have three children: Addison (15), Kiley (12) and Camden (11). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kent State University. He serves as the President of the Board for Lake Youth Baseball and enjoys archery, hunting, camping, golf, coaching youth sports teams and doing mission work in Haiti alongside his church small group.

Scott Yoakam, Production Team

Scott Yoakam is Stark Development’s site superintendent. He has more than 30 years in the construction industry, including serving as a superintendent and site supervisor for a local home builder, where he specialized in craftsmen restorations. He is a certified home inspector, and enjoys interacting with his customers – from personal homeowners to businesses – to bring their dreams to life. Scott is a regular volunteer with his local Habitat for Humanity, and he enjoys spending time with his wife of 30 years working on their mini farm in southern Ohio.

Patrick Moore, Production Team

Patrick Moore has nearly 30 years in the construction field, including 10 years at Stark Development. In 1990, Patrick graduated from Ohio Diesel Technical Institute in Cleveland as a certified master mechanic. He later learned construction on the job, doing drywall finishing, learning various other aspects of the building industry, and later working as a sub-contractor. Patrick enjoys the variety of projects he gets to work on, as well as interacting with his clients. He regularly gives back to his community by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, as well as working on construction projects at several local churches. Patrick and his wife Shelly have been married for 28 years, and they are the proud parents of three children – Taylor, Amanda and Aimee.
